Rear extensions and renovation. South West London, SW15.

This family home in Lower Putney required internal reconfiguration plus ground floor and extensions in order to remedy the unsuccessful original layout.

Although the intervention was relatively modest in terms of the scale of the extensions -3 metre deep ground floor extension and the widening of an existing dormer window-, the property has now an extra bedroom at loft level, and a new TV room, and the communal areas have been transformed from a collection of dark disconnected rooms into a flowing sequence of light filled spaces, connecting to the garden.

We worked closely with our developer client, designing an optimum configuration where the sequence of main living spaces: kitchen, living room, sheltered sunken patio and garden, all benefit fully from the south western orientation.
