Victorian mansion restored and transformed into luxury apartments. Castle Place, Surrey.

Castle Place was the remaining building from a Victorian mansion built around 1860, and partially demolished in the 1950s.

The owners' vision was to restore and extend it, and to create six luxury apartments within the renovated building.

The core objective was to blend the old and the new in a manner that was balanced and mutually enhancing. The modern elements were carefully chosen for their crisp detailing, reduced palette of materials and functionality.

Overall, the project is characterised by the combination of these two styles; elaborate, well crafted, hand-made tradional elements, and crisp machine made modern insertions. The natural light, views and sense of space were also key features of this development.

In my opinion, this was one of the most successful projects we have been involved in.
