Side and rear infill extensions and house reconfiguration, Wimbledon SW19.

This detached house was in need of modernisation and an improved layout. The kitchen was very cramped, the dining room was disconnected and gloomy and the connection to the garden was very unsatisfactory.

We proposed a side infill extension to run the full depth of the house from the front  garages to the rear garden. In order to maximise light, increase the internal floor to ceiling height and minimise the impact on the adjoining property, we designed a mono-pitched, lean-to extension, with glazed gable walls at either end.

We opened up the flank wall of the existing house, in order to create a large open plan kitchen, dining, family room leading to the rear garden. In addition, there are now a new utility and boot room at ground floor level, with their own independent front access, and a new en-suite, dressing room and balcony at first floor level.

The end result is a fantastic, spacious and light filled property.
