House renovation, Wimbledon, London SW19.

This house was designed by Peter Foggo in the 1960’s. Strangely, the structure is a black painted concrete frame, in place of the more usual steel.

Both end walls are completely glazed, one end facing a car-port and the other facing the rear garden.

We designed and directed its renovation in close collaboration with the owner. The whole house was stripped back to the bare structure and rebuilt to create a light-filled, modern family home with an upgraded thermal envelope that provides greatly improved energy efficiency.

The interior was rearranged around a large family room containing kitchen, dining and sitting area, with glazed sliding doors leading to a large decked area at the rear.
